About the Ministry
The Syrian Arab Republic saw exceptional challenges during the years of the blessed Syrian revolution, challenges that were felt across the state's institutions. The Ministry of Endowments bore a heavy share of them: its resources and assets were subjected to systematic plunder and encroachment, beginning under the former regime and the deliberate marginalisation of the endowment's role and mission that came with it, through to the damage that deepened over the years of the revolution — producing a difficult reality that called for renewed resolve and a comprehensive reform vision.
The Ministry of Endowments has begun adopting a scientific and institutional approach that restores the endowment's original role in serving and developing society, safeguards its religious mission of moderation and balance, and strengthens the principles of transparency and sound stewardship in growing and investing endowment funds for the public good.
